¿Utopía o Realidad? Las verdades convergentes

Abstract

El desarrollo del Periodismo de Investigación constituye una exigencia en el tratamiento en profundidad de temáticas actuales. En Cuba, la experiencia en esta modalidad en los medios de comunicación, así como su estudio, son considerados insuficientes. Esta investigación propone, desde una perspectiva cualitativa, un sistema de acciones para potenciar el ejercicio del Periodismo de Investigación en las corresponsalías del periódico Granma, uno de los medios de prensa más importantes del país. Para ello, se valió de la triangulación de métodos, fuentes y teorías, que permitieron diagnosticar las causas que limitan la práctica de esta modalidad en el órgano de prensa. El estudio sintetiza los principales antecedentes del Periodismo de Investigación desde su surgimiento, hasta su posterior expansión hacia América Latina y Cuba. Se abordan las definiciones existentes en torno al objeto de estudio, y se desarrolla una propuesta de pasos a seguir en la realización de un trabajo de este tipo. Esta investigación se sustenta en los estudios sobre los emisores y de la producción de noticias (Newsmaking), de las Ciencias de la Comunicación; y en los presupuestos de la teoría de los sistemas. El sistema de acciones elaborado se sometió a un grupo de discusión con profesionales del medio de prensa, para conocer la factibilidad de la propuesta en la solución al problema científico planteado.

The development of Investigative Journalism is mandatory in order to approach current topics. In Cuba, the experience and the research in this modality in the media are considered insufficient. The present investigation proposes, from a qualitative perspective, a course of action to better up the exercise of Investigative Journalism in the correspondent´s offices of Granma newspaper, one of the most important newspapers of the country. In order to achieve this, a group of methods, sources and theories that allowed the diagnosis of the reasons that limit the practice of this modality in the press were used. The present work synthesizes the main precedents of Investigative Journalism, form its early beginnings to the later expansion to Latin America and Cuba. The work also provides the existing definitions related to the object of study and offers a proposal of the step to follow white doing a project of this type. This investigation finds its bases in the studies of broadcasting and newsmaking, Communication Sciences and the premises of the systems theory. The action planed elaborated was analyzed with a group of professionals from the press in order to assess the feasibility of the proposal to solve the scientific problem.
