La Gaceta de Cuba: ¿Periodismo y literatura o, periodismo vs literatura? Una caracterización del Periodismo Cultural de temática literaria en la revista entre 2001y 2011

Abstract

El auge de las Nuevas Tecnologías de la Información y las Comunicaciones, a partir de la década de los ´90 ha condicionado que las audiencias se vuelvan cada vez más selectivas y exigentes. Los medios tradicionales del periodismo buscan entonces adecuarse a los requerimientos de la prensa actual; y ven en la especialización temática la vía más eficaz para mantener un diálogo constante con el público. En este ámbito aparece el Periodismo Cultural como una de las ramas más difíciles dentro especialismo en los medios de comunicación, sin embargo las revistas han demostrado ser un soporte idóneo para desarrollarlo. Entre las revistas especializadas cubanas La Gaceta de Cuba funge como representante activa del acontecer del campo cultural cubano, por lo que la presente investigación está encaminada a determinar las características del Periodismo Cultural dedicado a valorar la literatura en esta revista en el período comprendido entre 2001 y el 2011, mediante un acucioso análisis de contenido.

The progress of the New Information Technologies and the Communications, during the decade of the 90‘s has conditioned audiences to become more selective and demanding each time. The traditional media of journalism seek then to make suitable the requests of the present-day press, and they find in the thematic specialization the most effective way to keep a constant dialog with the public. In this environment the Cultural Journalism appears like one of the most difficult branches within specialization in the media; however, the magazines have proven to be a suitable support to develop it. Among the specialized Cuban journals La Gaceta de Cuba plays an active representative role about the everyday events of the Cuban cultural field, which is why the present investigation is aimed at determining the characteristics of Cultural Journalism dedicated to appreciate the literature in this magazine during the period from 2001 to 2011 by means of an analysis of the content.
