Diseño de un módulo con soporte para la búsqueda colaborativa en bibliotecas digitales como una alternativa a desafíos actuales en la educación

Abstract

En atención a la importancia del trabajo colectivo en la educación, como un desafío significativo a reflejar en el marco de las bibliotecas digitales, y el interés de los estudiantes por colaborar entre ellos en varios escenarios de búsqueda de información, requerirán nuevas y eficaces herramientas para la selección y acondicionamiento de los datos a los que se desea acceder. Por lo que se ha llevado a cabo la siguiente investigación: diseñar un módulo para bibliotecas digitales que posibilite la búsqueda explícita entre estudiantes con necesidad de información compartida. El diseño del módulo es llevado a cabo mediante la metodología AMENITIES, que aborda la complejidad inherente de los entornos colaborativos, permitiéndonos describir el módulo colaborativo mediante cuatro vistas que facilitan exponer los aspectos más relevantes en este diseño. El resultado más significativo de este trabajo se centra en el diseño de un módulo para bibliotecas digitales con soporte para la colaboración, brindando la posibilidad que los estudiantes realicen búsquedas en grupo; enriqueciendo así la memoria grupal de la biblioteca digital con las actividades que realizan durante las sesiones de búsqueda. El uso de este módulo va a facilitar y potenciar en gran medida el proceso de enseñanza­aprendizaje; debido al acercamiento del alumno con la información y apropiación de conocimientos. La biblioteca digital, se convertiría en una plataforma de educación a distancia; siendo este espacio muy atractivo e interactivo para los estudiantes por la gran congregación de usuarios para la cooperación y transferencia de conocimiento entre los participantes.

Taking into account the importance of working in groups, and regarding it as a significant challenge to reflect in digital libraries, as well as the student’s interest to collaborate among themselves at several scenarios of quest of information, new and efficacious tools for the selection and conditioning will call for the data that one wishes to accede to. Hence, the following research has been developed: Designing a module for digital libraries that makes possible the explicit research among students with the need of sharing information. The module is designed using the AMENITIES methodology, which comprises the complexity of a collaborative environment, allowing us to describe the collaborative module through four points of view that facilitate the exposition of the most relevant aspects of the design. The most significant result of this work is focused on the design of the module for digital libraries with support for the collaboration, offering the possibility to students to work in group in their quests and at the same time enhancing the group memory of the digital library with the different activities accomplished during the research sessions. The use of this module is going to facilitate and to increase the power of the teaching­learning process, due to the approach of the student with the information and the acquisition of knowledge. The digital library will turn out to be a platform for long­distance education; moreover, it will be very attractive and interactive for students, because of the congregation of users for the cooperation and transference of knowledge between the participants.
