Abstract: El periodismo ha experimentado un convulso proceso de profesionalización y sus profesionales son reconocidos y respetados a partir del cumplimiento de las funciones y roles que la sociedad les atribuye, ya que estos son la pieza fundamental del sistema mediático de un país y construyen la realidad social, que es interpretada por las audiencias, luego de su representación en los medios de comunicación. En este ámbito laboral surgen nuevas necesidades y lo más requerido son actitudes positivas ante los cambios, para afrontar de manera innovadora los desafíos que se presentan. Cuba está inmersa en un proceso de actualización socioeconómica iniciado en 2011, con una serie de cambios que están encaminados a la búsqueda de un futuro próspero. En este contexto, los profesionales de la prensa deben ser la vanguardia catalizadora de los cambios de la nueva sociedad, pues el periodismo tiene una participación inevitable como mediador entre los poderes políticos y la sociedad. Precisamente, en auto percibir cómo encaja su rol profesional en la sociedad, se enmarcan las investigaciones sobre actitudes profesionales de los periodistas; un terreno científico con discretos resultados en América Latina y prácticamente inexplorado en Cuba. Authors: Rodríguez Cabrera, Bernardo Abstract: La prensa, por el papel que desempeña con respecto al país y la Revolución, no puede permanecer al margen ante el reconocimiento del ambiente de indisciplinas sociales, ilegalidades, contravenciones y delitos arraigados en la nación. Los métodos y técnicas de indagación que propone el Periodismo investigativo son instrumentos eficaces para develar dichos flagelos, ayudar a interpretarlos, entenderlos y quizá solucionarlos desde un enfoque crítico, argumentativo y profundo. Sin embargo, su empleo en los medios de comunicación resulta exiguo. En este fenómeno inciden factores internos, como el reducido tiempo-espacio y la falta de recursos materiales, pero también pueden influir las regulaciones externas, declaradas en el Diagnóstico y proyección del Sistema de Comunicación en Cuba como uno de los diez problemas vitales que aquejan a la prensa actualmente. El presente estudio se concibe desde una perspectiva cualitativa para analizar la incidencia de la regulación externa en el ejercicio del Periodismo de investigación en el semanario holguinero ¡ahora! Para ello, se aplican métodos como la revisión bibliográfico-documental, encuestas, entrevistas en profundidad y a informantes claves, que permiten recopilar opiniones, equilibrarlas y contraponerlas, además de identificar factores positivos y negativos que devienen del nexo. Methods and techniques of Investigative Journalism are effective tools to expose, interpret, understand and maybe work out those scourges, through key arguments and a critical and deep approach. However, its usage is meager in the news media. Internal factors such as the limited time-space and the lack of material resources impinge on this phenomenon. But also the external regulations, declared as one of ten supreme problems that affect our press at present, by the Diagnosis and scope of Cuban Communicative System, can influence too. The current investigation is conceived from a qualitative perspective to analyze how the external regulations incidence in the Investigative Journalism exercise within the newspaper ¡ahora! In this way methods such as the surveys, deeply interviews and to key informers are applied. It allows to gather opinions, balancing and contrasting them, as well as identify advantages and disadvantages of this nexus.
