Caracterización de lodo residual de la cantera El Pilón de Mayarí como material de construcción

Abstract

Encontrar una aplicación a los lodos residuales de las plantas procesadoras de áridos por los efectos negativos que provocan al medio ambiente constituye una necesidad ante las afectaciones ocasionadas al ecosistema donde son depositados. Esta investigación tiene como objetivo caracterizar el lodo residual de la planta procesadora de áridos El Pilón en el municipio Mayarí de la provincia de Holguín para determinar alternativas de valorización. Para la caracterización se realizaron ensayos físicos y químicos, en los laboratorios de, la Empresa Nacional de Investigaciones Aplicada de Holguín y del Centro de Investigación del Níquel en Nicaro respectivamente. Al obtener los resultados y analizar sus propiedades, se identifica según la norma NC 54-264:1984 como polvo de piedra calidad 2, por lo que se propone su valorización como materia prima en la elaboración de mezclas de morteros, supliendo así necesidades de la industria de materiales de la construcción. Para su desarrollo se aplicaron métodos de investigación del nivel teórico, empírico y estadístico, que permitieron constatar las insuficiencias y valorar la factibilidad de los aportes de la investigación. Finding an application to waste sludge from aggregate processing plants due to the negative effects they cause on the environment is a necessity in the face of the effects caused to the ecosystem where they are deposited. The objective of this research is to characterize the residual sludge from the El Pilón aggregates processing plant in the Mayarí municipality of the Holguín province to determine recovery alternatives. For the characterization, physical and chemical tests were carried out in the laboratories of the National Applied Research Company of Holguín and the Nickel Research Center in Nicaro, respectively. When obtaining the results and analyzing its properties, it is identified according to the NC 54-264: 1984 standard as quality 2 stone powder, which is why it is proposed to value it as a raw material in the preparation of mortar mixtures, thus meeting the needs of the construction materials industry. For its development, research methods of the theoretical, empirical and statistical level were applied, which made it possible to verify the shortcomings and assess the feasibility of the research contributions.
