Luz y Caballero: el conocimiento como un proceso de ascenso del saber hasta la verdad

Abstract

Luz y Caballero. El objetivo estuvo dirigido a ofrecer un análisis del conocimiento humano como el resultado de la integración coherente de la actividad empírica y teórica, en un proceso orgánico de ascenso infinito del saber hasta alcanzar la verdad objetiva. El texto revela cómo el enfoque dialéctico seguido por Luz en su estudio del proceso cognoscitivo, le permitió descubrir sus características más importantes, así como la cualidades derivadas de las interacciones entre el sujeto cognoscente y el objeto de la cognición, mediado por un método científico. La investigación exigió la aplicación métodos ajustados a las características del tema, priorizándose el trabajo con las fuentes, cuyos datos fueron generalizados mediante los procedimientos lógicos del conocimiento científico. El autor seleccionó los materiales de trabajo, en correspondencia con las demandas del proceso investigativo.

This article reveals a new dimension of the gnoseology of the nineteenth-century Cuban philosopher José de la Luz y Caballero. The objective was aimed at offering an analysis of human knowledge as the result of the coherent integration of empirical and theoretical activity, in an organic process of infinite ascending of knowledge until reaching objective truth. The text reveals how the dialectical approach followed by Luz in his study of the cognitive process allowed him to discover its most important characteristics, as well as the qualities derived from the interactions between the knowing subject and the object of cognition, mediated by a scientific method. The research required the application of methods adjusted to the characteristics of the subject, prioritizing the work with the sources, whose data was generalized through the logical procedures of scientific knowledge. The author selected the work materials, in correspondence with the demands of the investigative process.
