La Estimulación auditiva en casos de sordoceguera con implante coclear: perspectiva desde las Ciencias de la Educación

Abstract

La sordoceguera constituye una de las necesidades educativas especiales que genera una discapacidad compleja. Solucionar este déficit o minimizar sus consecuencias en los individuos que la poseen constituye en la actualidad un reto. El implante coclear es una alternativa quirúrgica costosa pero efectiva en la compensación de este déficit sensorial. El artículo aborda las principales consideraciones teóricas alrededor de esta problemática. Se describe brevemente la categoría diagnóstica sordoceguera y en qué consiste el implante coclear, ambos aspectos necesarios en la comprensión de su tratamiento desde el contexto pedagógico. Se enuncian acciones a desarrollar para estimular el lenguaje. Para la ejecución del presente proyecto de investigación se utilizó la modalidad de proyecto factible basado en la investigación de campo. Se emplearon métodos del nivel empírico y teóricos, entre ellos, la observación, encuesta y entrevistas.

The deaf blindness is one of the educational needs that create a severe impairment. Solving this deficit or minimizing its effects on the persons constitutes nowadays a challenge. The cochlear implant is a surgical option –effective although expensive –in the offset of this sensory deficit. The article deals with the theoretical considerations around this issue. The diagnostic category “deaf blindness” is described as well as what the cochlear implant consists on: necessary aspects for the understanding of this treatment within the pedagogical context. Actions are offered for the stimulation of language. This paper is based on an investigation carried on through the modality of feasible project based on fiel d research. There were used methods from the empirical and theoretical levels, among them: observation, survey and interview.
