La Filosofía de la Educación: un debate en torno a la formación de valores

Abstract

En el presente artículo se analizaron algunas concepciones de bases filosóficas idealistas y materialistas acerca de la formación de valores, desde la Filosofía de la Educación. Se valoraron aquellas tendencias en la educación contemporánea que tuvieron como base estas posiciones filosóficas y que sustentaron la formación de valores en el proceso pedagógico, tales como la Educación Tradicional, la Educación Nueva y la Educación Progresista.

The article presents a thorough analysis of some idealistic and materialistic philosophical-based conceptions and their influence upon values education from a perspective of educational philosophy. The article assesses those trends in contemporary education sustained in such philosophical theories, which constitute the foundation to values education practice. The author makes reference, specifically, to three philosophically-sustained theories in educational trends which influence upon values education: the Traditional Education, the New School, and Progressive Education.
