James Monroe vs Simón Bolívar: Una Razón Ética

Abstract

El objetivo de la investigación de enfoque cualitativo, fue comprender génesis y diferencias entre la Doctrina Monroe y la Doctrina Bolivariana, con la intención de profundizar en elementos ideológicos y filosóficos presentes en eventos históricos, que impactan a la propuesta de integración de la región meridional. Como métodos se emplearon la búsqueda de información en fuentes documentales, el método histórico-lógico para el análisis del comportamiento de las naciones en sus relaciones, con la finalidad de comprender estos hechos particulares. Obteniendo como hallazgo que la primera doctrina se maneja dentro de escenarios económicos y militares con una ética utilitarista determinante en sus aspiraciones de instaurar un Estado continental bajo su imperio, y la segunda se presenta visionaria, sobre bases de necesidad de unidad para organizar a la región. Inspirada en principios superiores de libertad, soberanía, autodeterminación de los pueblos y valores de cooperación, solidaridad y paz.

The objective of the qualitative approach research was to understand the genesis and differences between the Monroe Doctrine and the Bolivarian Doctrine, with the intention of delving into the ideological and philosophical elements embedded in historical events, which currently impact the proposal for the integration of the Southern region. The information was obtained from documentary sources, privileging the historical -logical method for the analysis of the behavior of nations in their relationships, in order to understand these particular facts. Obtaining, as a significant finding, that the former doctrine is handled within economic and military scenarios, based on a utilitarian ethics that is decisive for its asirations to establish a continental State under its empire, and the latter is presented as a visionary approach, on the basis of the need for unity to organize the region, inspired by superior principles of liberty, sovereignty, self-determination of peoples and the values of cooperation, solidarity and peace.
