    Abstract

The main objective declared in this article was to reveal the specificities of the critics of the remarkable Cuban philosopher and teacher José de la Luz y Caballero to the idealistic subjective conceptions of Kantism about time and space, which were spread in Cuba by a group of representative intellectuals of the anti-Cuban tendency on the philosophical thought of the epoch during the third decade of the 19th century, known as spiritualist eclecticism. Some aspects which are not very well known about the teacher ́s philosophy were deeply studied by the authors, and in the research, they showed the profoundness and the high theoretical reach of his thinking, as well as his known commitment with the task of forging an independent culture in Cuba.
