Características de las funciones cognitivas del síndrome cerebeloso cognitivo afectivo en jóvenes con sca-2 de la Provincia de Holguín.

Abstract

The present investigation was conducted with the objective of characterizing cognitive functions in Cerebellum Cognitive Affective Syndrome in young individuals with SCA-2. In our country, this investigation constitutes one of the first approaches related to these patients, in addition to having a powerful tool to determine if they suffer from the syndrome or not, thus achieving the patient’s follow up throughout time. A cohort transversal descriptive investigation was carried out using medical records revision, semi-structured interview and CCAS-S scale. SSPS v23 program was used for statistic processing. Results show deficits in executive function characterized by alterations in working memory, abstract reasoning and verbal fluency. Speech difficulties were detected apart from agramatism and diprosody. Visospatial abilities are evidence of compromised visospatial organization.
