Evaluación económica de daños por incendios forestales en la EFIM e implementación de mejoras al plan de protección para disminuirlos
Abstract
Los incendios forestales constituyen un fenómeno que proporciona notables
pérdidas a la economía del país, también introducen serias afectaciones al
medio ambiente que sumados a emisiones de industrias y equipos que trabajan
con combustibles fósiles, están degradando el clima a nivel mundial.
En el trabajo se presenta una evaluación de los daños económicos y las
emisiones de CO2 a la atmósfera causada por los incendios forestales en la
zona montañosa del municipio de Mayarí, se propone además la
implementación de mejoras al plan de protección para disminuir la ocurrencia
de los incendios forestales, así como los daños ocasionados por éstos. Se
evalúa el primer año de la puesta en marcha de éste plan, durante el cuál se
redujeron en más del 50 % los daños respecto a los dos años anteriores. Se
recomienda, evaluar y actualizar anualmente el Plan de protección contra
incendios forestales en la EFIM, a fin de contener el alarmante crecimiento
observado en los años 2010 y 2011, proceder a la construcción de medidas
especializadas propuestas para las áreas de índice de peligrosidad 1 y 2.

mejora of an plan the protection for mitigate damages produced by forest fire.
