La Representación Social de los Periodistas Holguineros acerca de su ejercicio profesional

Abstract

El presente estudio se propuso una valoración sobre las representaciones sociales de los periodistas de la provincia de Holguín, Cuba, acerca de su ejercicio profesional. Esta investigación se desarrolla bajo el paradigma sociocrítico, pues combina metodologías cualitativas y cuantitativas. De esta forma, reveló el contenido y la estructura de dicha representación, a partir del enfoque estructural representado por Jean-Claude Abric, con la Teoría del Núcleo Central. También se emplearon métodos interrogativos y asociativos que permitieron compilar los datos, los cuales fueron analizados y jerarquizados por los propios sujetos estudiados. La triangulación metodológica propició el carácter multidimensional y holístico del estudio. Desde una perspectiva psicosocial, la investigación permitirá ofrecer a los periodistas conocimientos sobre sí mismos, como grupo social y profesional de vital importancia para la sociedad cubana.

Present investigation appraises the Social Representations of the journalists of Holguín's province, Cuba, about its practice of a profession. This qualitative research revealed the contents and the structure of those Social Representations, as from the structural focus formulated by Jean Claude Abric, with the Theory of the Central Nucleus. Interrogative and associative methods that they enabled used compiling data themselves, these methods were examined and hierarchized by the studied journalists. To ending, the researcher used the procedure of triangulation of data, sources and theories, with the aim of increasing the power of the multidimensional and holistic character of the study. From a social-psychology perspective, the study offered knowledge on themselves, like social group of journalists and professional of vital importance for the Cuban society
