Evaluación del herbicida Merlin, solo o combinado con otros herbicidas, en el control de arvenses de la Caña de Azúcar en la UBPC Walter Mulet Pupo del municipio Cacocum

Abstract

El trabajo se desarrolló en la UBPC Walter Mulet Pupo perteneciente a la UEB APA Cristino Naranjo del municipio Cacocum, provincia de Holguín. Su objetivo fue determinar la efectividad del herbicida Merlin GD-75, solo o combinado con otros herbicidas reconocidos, para el control de arvenses en el cultivo de la Caña de Azúcar y así obtener la mejor opción en la unidad productiva dentro de un manejo integrado. Para el desarrollo de la investigación se utilizó un diseño en bloques al azar con cuatro tratamientos y cuatro repeticiones, sobre un suelo Vertisol Pélico mullido y cálcico, carbonatado, en los cuales se evaluaron en caña planta las variables: efectividad del herbicida (%) en el control de las arvenses a los 30, 45 y 60 d.d.a, grado de control del herbicida, fitotoxicidad y los rendimientos agrícolas del cultivo (t.ha -1 ), además se realizó una valoración económica de los resultados. Los resultados mostraron que en los tratamientos con las mezclas del herbicida Merlin con otros y en el Testigo, hubo un efectivo control de todas las arvenses entre los 30 y 60 días, en el tratamiento de Merlin solo la efectividad fue baja (6 a 7), también las mezclas del Merlin con otros herbicidas realizaron un excelente control de las arvenses (81-100 puntos) y en ningún caso la Caña de Azúcar mostró fitotoxicidad y se obtuvieron mayores valores de rendimientos en las mezclas (60,3 y 59,1 t.ha -1 ). Fue mucho más ventajoso la mezcla de Merlin + 2,4-D amina, por su efectivo control y un costo inferior (0,49 USD/día limpio), por lo que resulta beneficioso para el control de arvenses en la Caña de Azúcar en las condiciones de la UBPC Walter Mulet Pupo del municipio Cacocum, provincia Holguín.
