Desempeño político de Blanca Rosa Coutín Fuentes entre 1936-1940

Abstract

Las investigaciones históricas sobre la mujer en Cuba, han asumido nuevas dimensiones y enfoques. Desde finales del siglo XX, cuando se comienza a estudiar la inserción de la mujer en la vida social, económica y política. Temáticas de significativa importancia para entender su papel en los diferentes procesos de la Historia de Cuba. En este trabajo nos acercamos al papel de la mujer en Holguín y su participación política, a partir de 1934, con el logro del derecho al sufragio. En la misma se revela el desempeño político de Blanca Rosa Coutín Fuentes en Holguín entre 1936-1940. Así como su desempeño en el cargo de Concejal y cómo se convirtió en la primera mujer Alcalde en Holguín.

The historical investigations on the woman in Cuba, they have assumed new dimensions and focuses. From final of the XX century, when begins to study the woman ́s insert in the social, economic and politics life. Thematic of significant importance to understand their paper en the different processes of the history of Cuba. In this research, we come closer to the woman ́s paper en Holguín and their political participation, starting from 1934, with the achievement of the right the vote. In the same one, the political acting is revealed of Blanca Rosa Coutín Fuentes en Holguín among 1936-1940. She was Councilman and the first woman that she ended up being a Mayor in Holguín.
