Representación social de la pobreza en la comunidad “La Yabita”.

Abstract

La comunidad “La Yabita” del Consejo Popular Alcides Pino es un contexto comunitario en donde la pobreza constituye una realidad de vida. Ante este fenómeno social los habitantes tienden a asumir una postura de conformismo y pasividad, de no implicación consciente en función de cuestionar y transformar creativamente esta realidad. Por esta razón la presente investigación posee como objetivo: caracterizar la representación social de la pobreza en los habitantes de la comunidad “La Yabita”. Se aplica una metodología cualitativa para la obtención de la información y análisis del objeto de investigación, así como métodos teóricos tales como histórico –lógico, analítico -sintético e inductivo-deductivo, y empíricos como la observación científica, la entrevista en profundidad semiestructurada, asociaciones libres y grupo de discusión. La tesis se estructura en dos capítulos. En el primer capítulo se referencian los principales autores y se realiza una valoración crítica de los antecedentes teóricos y metodológicos de las representaciones sociales, los estudios de pobreza y comunidad. Al mismo tiempo se analizan, asumen y elaboran los conceptos que guían la investigación. En el segundo capítulo se caracteriza la comunidad “La Yabita” y se analizan los instrumentos que arrojan como resultado una representación social de pobreza que naturaliza el fenómeno como responsabilidad de agentes externos, necesidades relacionadas con la obtención de recursos materiales; estados emocionales negativos; además de caracterizarse por una actitud negativa y pasiva; y una exigua cantidad y calidad de información.

The neighborhood “La Yabita” of the community Alcides Pino is a community context where the poverty constitutes a reality of life. Before this social phenomenon the inhabitants spread to assume a conformism posture and passivity, of not conscious implication in function of to question and to transform this reality creatively. For this reason the present investigation possesses as objective: to characterize the social representation of the poverty in the inhabitants of the community “La Yabita”. A qualitative methodology is applied for the obtaining of the information and analysis of the investigation object, as well as such theoretical methods as historical -logical, analytic -synthetic and inductive-deductive, and empiric as the scientific observation, the interview in depth, the one semi-structured, free associations and discussion group. The thesis is structured in two chapters. The first chapter is indexed the main authors and he/she is carried out a critical valuation of the theoretical and methodological antecedents of the social representations, the studies of poverty and community. At the same time they are analyzed, they assume and they elaborate the concepts that guide the investigation. In the second chapter the community “La Yabita” is characterized and the instruments are analyzed that show a social representation of poverty that naturalizes the phenomenon like external agents' responsibility, necessities related with the obtaining of material resources as a result; feelings and negative emotional states; besides being characterized by a negative and passive attitude; and a scanty quantity and quality of information.
