Comportamiento de la natalidad en la UEB “El Vapor”del municipio Gibara

Abstract

Con el objetivo evaluar el comportamiento de la natalidad en la UEB “El Vapor” del municipio Gibara, se realizó un análisis retrospectivo con las tarjetas de reproducción de 135 animales de las cuales se recopilaron las medidas reproductivas: edad a la incorporación (EI), edad al primer parto (EPP); período de servicio (PS), período interpartal (PIP), duración de la gestación (DG), servicios/ gestación (SG), número y fecha de los partos para determinar el porcentaje de la natalidad: Porcentaje de Natalidad= (Días del año/PIP) x100 (Isaza,2009), y el índice de natalidad(IN): IN = Total de terneros nacidos vivos/ total de hembras x100 (Driggs, 2012). Se empleó un diseño completamente aleatorizado, procesando primariamente los datos mediante el tabulador electrónico Excel (Office 2010), las valoraciones estadísticas se llevaron a cabo mediante el paquete computarizado InfoStat 2012. Todas las variables se sometieron a la prueba de normalidad Kolmogorov-Sirmov y como no la cumplían fueron procesadas mediante la prueba de Kruskal-Wllis para K muestras independientes, realizándose análisis de varianza no paramétrica y comparación de proporciones según el caso. Se encontraron diferencias significativas en las categorías reproductivas relacionadas con la Edad a la incorporación y la Edad al primer parto, los indicadores de período interpartal, período de servicio e inseminaciones por gestación son superiores a los valores óptimos, lo que ocasionó una pérdida de 4 144,11 CUP. Los indicadores de la natalidad se comportaron con un incremento a finales del período menos lluvioso y su extensión hasta los meses de julio y agosto, lo que resulta adecuado por la mayor disponibilidad de alimentos y mejores condiciones ambientales para los animales en esta época del año.
