Evaluación de indicadores zootécnicos en la finca El Vapor durante el año 2020

Abstract

El estudio se realizó en el período enero-diciembre del año 2020 en la finca lechera “El Vapor”, perteneciente a la Empresa productora de Granos y Cereales del municipio de Gibara, provincia de Holguín; cuyo objeto social es la producción de leche para la industria y con el objetivo fue evaluar el comportamiento de los indicadores zootécnicos en la finca. La toma de información para el monitoreo se realizó según los indicadores para diagnósticos de unidades de producción propuestas por la metodología PASEA (Marzin, 2014). Se consideró como criterios de referencia, los indicadores económicos hallados durante el año 2020, en los registros de la unidad. Los resultados evidenciaron una carga animal alta así como la tasa de reemplazo en la hembra, valor que significa una renovación muy acelerada que dificulta la selección de las mejores vacas. Los valores encontrados en el diagnóstico para los principales índices reproductivos indican deficiencias en el rebaño. La longitud del intervalo entre el parto y el primer servicio postparto a la edad a la incorporación es alta. Se recomienda que es necesario mejorar el manejo de los rebaños por la implicación que tiene sobre la duración de la vida reproductiva de las hembras; los animales no están expresando todo su potencial productivo para la raza Siboney por lo que la curva de leche del año 2020 presentó irregularidades en la producción por meses.

The study was carried out in the period January-December 2020 at "El Vapor" dairy farm, belonging to the Grain and Cereal Production Company of the municipality of Gibara, province of Holguín; whose corporate purpose is the production of milk for the industry and with the objective of evaluating the behavior of the zootechnical indicators on the farm. The collection of information for monitoring was carried out according to the indicators for diagnoses of production units proposed by the methodology WALK (Marzin, 2014). The economic indicators found during the year 2020, in the records of the unit, were considered as reference criteria. The results showed a high stocking rate as well as the replacement rate in the female, a value that means a very accelerated renewal that makes it difficult to select the best cows. The values found in the diagnosis for the main reproductive indices indicate deficiencies in the herd. The length of the interval between calving and the first postpartum service at the age at incorporation is high. It is recommended that it is necessary to improve herd management due to the implication it has on the duration of the reproductive life of females; the animals are not expressing their full productive potential for the Siboney breed, so the 2020 milk curve presented irregularities in production for months.
