Abstract
The objective of the construction of tailings dams (tails) is to store the solid waste from
the mining-metallurgical process. The catastrophic movements caused by the rupture
of mining tailings dams, constitute a high risk (danger, exposure, vulnerability) for
mining, the environment, construction and everything that this material encounters in
its movement. Nowadays, entities such as the National Applied Research Company
UIC Holguín (ENIA) perform the stability analysis of static and pseudo-static slopes
through Geostudio 2007 software empirically, and there is no knowledge of the use of
a procedure to perform the dynamics analysis through the Quake tool of the GeoStudio
2012 software. Therefore, in this paper it is proposed to develop a procedure for the
analysis of slope dynamics through the Quake tool of the GeoStudio 2012 software,
which constitutes an important contribution from the point of view theoretical and
practical. For this, three types of analysis are taken into account, the filtration analysis
with the Seep/W, the static through the Slope/W tool and the dynamic analysis through
the Quake/W tool that takes into account the inclusion of dynamic parameters and
accelerograms. The procedure is applied in to Yagrumaje tail dam like study case,
which allowed a better stability analysis to be carried out by including accelerograms
and dynamic parameters and made it possible to validate the research hypothesis. The
solution of the research problem and the fulfillment of the objectives were possible with
the implementation of a system of research methods of a theoretical and empirical
nature. The writing of thesis is governed by the APA standard
