La zeolita natural como alternativa en la producción de materiales de construcción

Abstract

Minimizar las afectaciones medioambientales y económicas que traen consigo el desarrollo constructivo de una región es una tarea que debe ser ejecutada con rigurosidad. En el presente trabajo se muestran los resultados de la evaluación de las características de hormigones con agregados de zeolita sustituyendo parcialmente al cemento, con el objetivo de analizar la posibilidad de su uso en la provincia de Holguín por los beneficios económicos y ecológicos que brindan. Su empleo en hormigones puede significar desde un 10 hasta un 30% de ahorro de cemento según las experiencias analizadas y una reducción equivalente de emisiones de gases a la atmósfera en elaboraciones de clinquer. En la presente investigación se evalúa el comportamiento de la zeolita natural como agregado para la producción de bloques huecos de hormigón a partir de sus potencialidades físicas y mecánicas, que permita su aprovechamiento en la industria de la construcción en la provincia de Holguín. Para su desarrollo se aplicaron métodos de investigación del nivel teórico, empírico y estadístico, que permitieron constatar las insuficiencias y valorar la factibilidad de los aportes de la investigación. Minimizing the environmental and economic effects that the constructive development of a region brings with it is a task that must be carried out rigorously. In the present work the results of the evaluation of the characteristics of concretes with zeolite aggregates partially substituting the cement are shown, with the objective of analyzing the possibility of its use in the province of Holguin due to the economic and ecological benefits they provide. The use of zeolite in concrete can mean up to 10% to 30% savings in cement according to the experiences analyzed and an equivalent reduction in gas emissions into the atmosphere in clinker production. In the present investigation, the behavior of natural zeolite is evaluated as an aggregate for the production of hollow concrete blocks from its physical and mechanical potentialities, which allows its use in the construction industry in the province of Holguín. For its development, research methods of the theoretical, empirical and statistical level were applied, which allowed verifying the insufficiencies and assessing the feasibility of the research contributions.
