Abstract

En las circunstancias que vive Cuba hoy, marcadas, entre otras causas, por el impacto del bloqueo económico, financiero y comercial impuesto por Estados Unidos y la crisis económica mundial, la actualización del modelo económico cubano se articula, quizá, como única vía para salvaguardar las conquistas de esta Revolución Socialista. La prensa no puede permanecer al margen del proceso más importante que tiene lugar en la nación. Así, debe acudir a todas sus herramientas para coadyuvar al perfeccionamiento de la economía nacional. El llamado Periodismo de Investigación dispone de instrumentos distintivos, para descubrir, analizar y publicar hechos, situaciones o procesos, que afectan el proceso de actualización del modelo económico cubano, desde un enfoque crítico, argumentativo y profundo. La presente investigación se concibe desde una perspectiva cualitativa, para analizar el uso de las técnicas y estrategias inherentes al Periodismo de Investigación en el semanario holguinero ¡ahora!, en el tratamiento de las temáticas que atañen a la enunciada actualización. Para responder el problema de investigación, se aplican métodos como el análisis de contenido, encuestas y entrevistas en profundidad y a informantes clave, que permiten ahondar en las rutinas productivas e ideologías profesionales de los reporteros, y determinar bajo qué condicionantes se emplean las herramientas investigativas. Este estudio pretende fomentar el uso de las herramientas del Periodismo de Investigación, para apoyar las transformaciones socio-económicas en Cuba. In the circumstances Cuba lives nowaday In the circumstances Cuba lives nowadays, marked, among other causes, for the impact of the economic, financial and commercial blockade imposed by United States and the world economic crisis, the upgrade of the Cuban economic pattern is articulated, maybe, as the only road to safeguard the conquests of this Socialist Revolution. Journalism cannot remain in the edge of the most important process that takes place in the country. In this way, it should put in practice all its tools to collaborate to the improvement of the national economy. The called ´´ Journalism of Investigation´´ has distinctive instruments, to discover, analyze and publish facts, situations or processes that affect the process of upgrade of the Cuban economic pattern, from a critical, argumentative and deep perspective. The present investigation is conceived from a qualitative perspective, to analyze the use of the techniques and inherent strategies, typical of Journalism of Investigation in !ahora¡ newspaper, in the treatment of the themes related to the mentioned upgrade. To respond to the investigation problem, methods like the content analysis, surveys and interviews deeply applied and others to key informers that allow to deepen in the productive routines and the reporters' professional ideologies, and to determine under what conditions the investigative tools are used. This research pretends to increase the use of the tools of Journalism of Investigation, in order to support the socio-economic transformations in Cuba. In correspondence with this purpose, it facilitates to analyze the ways in which the investigative journalistic practice is conceived and developed, and to identify positive and negative factors that characterize it.
