La prensa escrita cuetense en el siglo XX. Su desarrollo histórico (1913-1959)

Abstract

La historia de la prensa escrita holguinera y cubana en general ha padecido lagunas de espacio y tiempo. Los enfoques sobre qué y cómo estudiarla se han alejado cada vez más de los pueblos pequeños para concentrarse desde una perspectiva generalizadora en las grandes urbes. La ausencia de investigaciones locales en la línea de Estudios Históricos del Periodismo ha contribuido a ello. La presente tesis de diploma pretende hacer una caracterización de la evolución histórica de la prensa escrita en el municipio holguinero de Cueto durante el siglo XX, a través del análisis de contenido de dos de los principales periódicos de la época. Para tal propósito, la metodología cualitativa empleada utilizó además del método de investigación declarado, el histórico-lógico, la revisión bibliográfica documental y la entrevista en profundidad y a informantes claves.

The history of the press in Holguín and generally in Cuba has suffered some space and time gaps. The approaches to what and how study it have been moving away from the little towns in order to focus in metropolis with a general perspective. The lack of local investigations along the lines of historical studies on journalism has contributed to this issue. This investigation aims to characterize the historical development of the press in the municipality of Cueto, in the province of Holguín, during the 20th century, analyzing two of the main newspapers of that period. In order to reach that goal, the qualitative methodology used apart from the investigation method stated, the historical logical, the interview in depth and key informants.
