Actividades económicas norteamericanas en la región histórica de Holguín durante el periodo 1899-1902

Abstract

La presente investigación tiene como objetivo fundamental determinar las actividades económicas norteamericanas en la región histórica de Holguín durante el periodo de 1899 a 1902. Se ha partido de una amplia consulta de fuentes primarias en el Archivo Histórico Provincial de Holguín, destacando los Protocolos Notariales del periodo investigado. La investigación es novedosa al revelar las particularidades de las actividades económicas norteamericanas en la región histórica holguinera entre 1899 y 1902. Además de cerrar esta brecha epistemológica proporcionando un análisis sobre la participación norteamericana en las actividades mercantiles, industriales y financieras de la región holguinera durante la República burguesa. El estudio aporta una nueva interpretación sobre la presencia norteamericana, y a la vez, su participación en la economía de la región histórica de Holguín, durante el periodo comprendido entre 1899 y 1902.

The present research had the fundamental objective to determine the North American economic activities in the historic region of Holguin during the period 1899-1902.It has started from a large inquiry of primary sources in Historic Provincial File of Holguín, highlighting the Notarial Protocols of the investigated period. Investigation is innovative for revealing the particularities of the North American economic activities at Holguín's historic region between 1899 and 1902. In addition to close this epistemological breach providing an analysis of the North American participation in the mercantile, industrials and financiers activities on Holguín's region during the bourgeois Republic. The study contributes with a new interpretation on the North American presence, and at the same time, his participation in the economy of the historic region of Holguín, during the period comprised between 1899 and 1902.
