Suplementación con Tithonia diversifolia en dietas para terneras en la Recría 18 del municipio Calixto García

Abstract

El trabajo se realizó en la Recría 18, ubicada en la localidad de Cañada Larga, municipio Calixto García, con el objetivo de evaluar el efecto de la suplementación con Tithonia diversifolia en la dieta de la categoría de terneras. La dieta a suministrar en cada tratamiento fue calculada al 3% de su peso vivo. Se utilizaron 20 animales de la raza Siboney de Cuba divididos en dos grupos de diez cada uno. El tratamiento 1 (grupo control), el tratamiento 2 (Tithonia diversifolia). Se creó un diseño completamente aleatorizado. Los resultados se procesaron mediante la estadística descriptiva y fueron sometidos a un análisis de varianza simple a través del paquete estadístico INFOSTAD 2016 (Di Riezo, 2011). Los mejores resultados de ganancia media diaria (GMD) y el incremento del peso vivo (PV), correspondieron al grupo donde se suministró la Tithonia diversifolia como suplemento, quedando demostrado su efectividad como alternativa alimenticia viable de bajo costo. Se recomienda su uso como suplemento proteico para la alimentación de las hembras bovinas en desarrollo y extender los resultados obtenidos en el presente trabajo a los productores de leche del municipio y la provincia.
