Biblioteca universitaria “Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra”: 50 años de historia

Abstract

La presente investigación tiene un alcance explicativo y como objetivo fundamental, elaborar la historia de vida de la biblioteca universitaria “Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra” que permita conocer cómo esta ha contribuido a la educación holguinera. Para conseguir el objetivo general se exponen los principales aspectos teóricos conceptuales relativos a las historias de vida, a la historia de las bibliotecas universitarias en el mundo, en Cuba y en Holguín. Se presenta una caracterización de la transformación del Instituto Superior Pedagógico en Sede “José de la Luz y Caballero” y se realiza una periodización para la elaboración de la historia de la biblioteca universitaria. Los métodos empleados para efectuar la investigación fueron el histórico-lógico, el análisis-síntesis y la inducción-deducción; de los empíricos, la historia de vida conocida también como método biográfico, siendo este el método fundamental, el análisis documental, la observación no participante, la entrevista y la encuesta; ellos permitieron concretar los aportes y la significación mediante la elaboración de la historia de vida de la biblioteca universitaria. Su novedad reside en que por primera vez se presenta una investigación que expone la génesis y el devenir histórico de la biblioteca universitaria “Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra”, de la Universidad de Holguín

This research has an explanatory scope; the main objective is to write the history of the life of the University library "Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra" which allows knowing how it has contributed to education in Holguin. To fulfill the stated objective theoretical aspects related to histories of lives are presented; moreover, those of the history of university libraries worldwide, in Cuba and Holguin. It is included a characterization of the transformation process of the Higher Pedagogical Institute into José de la Luz y Caballero Campus, University of Holguin. At the same time, it is stated a periodization to study the history of this university library. Theoretical and empirical methods were applied: the historical-logical, analysis-synthesis, and induction-deduction; likewise, the history of life, known as the biographical method, is the fundamental one; in addition, document review, non-participant observation, interview, and the survey. They allowed specifying the contributions and significance through the preparation of the history of the life of this university library. Its novelty lays in a first-time research regarding the origin and evolution of the university library Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra from the University of Holguin
