Abstract

La investigación “La biblioteca “Benito Juárez” de la Universidad de Holguín. Apuntes para su historia”, tiene como objetivo fundamental reconstruir el proceso histórico de organización, institucionalización y evolución de esta institución. La investigación se estructura en dos capítulos; el primer capítulo contiene tres epígrafes en los que se ofrece un análisis sintético de las bibliotecas en el mundo y en Cuba, centrando la atención en las bibliotecas universitarias. El segundo capítulo se presenta en cinco epígrafes y constituye el aporte fundamental de la investigación al abordar el origen, institucionalización, organización y evolución de la biblioteca “Benito Juárez” de la Universidad de Holguín. Los métodos empleados para realizar la investigación fueron el histórico-lógico, el análisis y la síntesis, la inducción-deducción; y de los empíricos la entrevista y el análisis documental y crítica de fuentes; ellos permitieron concretar el aporte de la investigación consistente en un estudio que reconstruye la historia de la biblioteca “Benito Juárez”, su institucionalización, organización y evolución como elemento clave en el desarrollo de la Universidad de Holguín. La novedad se encuentra en que por primera vez se presenta una investigación, con carácter histórico, que reconstruye la organización, institucionalización, y evolución de la biblioteca “Benito Juárez” de la Universidad de Holguín

The present Investigation entitled “The Benito Juárez Library of the University of Holguín: Memoirs for its history”, hold as its main purpose to rebuild the historical process of organization, institucionalization, and evolution of this Institution. The investigation has been devided into two chapters; the first chapter contains three epigraphs in which we present a synthetic analysis of the Libraries in the world and in Cuba, we will draw the attention to the University Libraries, and in the second chapter it is presented in five epigraphs the fundamental contribution from the investigation when approaching the origin and evolution of the “Benito Juárez” Library of the University of Holguín. The methods used to carry out the investigation were the Historical-logical one, the analysis and the synthesis, the induction-deduction; as well as the empiric ones, the interview and the documental analysis. They allowed to sum up the contribution of the consistent investigation in a study that rebuilds the history of the university Library “Benito Juárez”, its institucionalization, organization, development and evolution like key element in the development of the University of Holguín. The novelty of this research lies in that for the first time an investigation with historical character that reconstructs the institucionalization, organization, development and evolution of the Benito Juárez Library of the University of Holguín is presented
