Diagnóstico de los recursos turísticos histórico culturales del destino Holguín

Abstract

El Turismo Cultural es una actividad de ocio cada vez más generalizada que ofrece, como valor añadido sobre otro tipo de turismo, experiencias relacionadas con el saber y el aprendizaje. Esta forma de turismo se ha incrementado en los últimos tiempos y está influyendo en el descenso del tradicional mes de veraneo en la playa y a favor de períodos más cortos de vacaciones distribuidos durante todo el año en destinos nacionales e internacionales. En Cuba, los Ministerios de Cultura y Turismo tienen firmado un convenio, garante de toda la actividad conjunta que en materia de cultura y turismo se desarrolla en el país y que abarca la extraordinaria riqueza patrimonial cubana, desde su música, su cocina, hasta su historia y patrimonio artístico y literario. En el destino Holguín, según se analiza en la Política de Desarrollo del MINTUR en el territorio, el Turismo Cultural cuenta con amplias posibilidades de desarrollo como cartera de producto - mercado por todos los recursos y los valores socioculturales que se preservan; precisamente la presente investigación tiene como propósito contribuir al mejor aprovechamiento de los recursos turísticos histórico-culturales en el destino Holguín.

Cultural tourism is a leisure activity which is gaining more popularity each day. It offers, as an additional value, experiences about knowledge and learning. As this type of tourism has increased in the latest years, it is influencing in the off-season summer months at the national and international beach resorts and in favor of shorter periods of vacation throughout the year. In Cuba, The Ministries of Culture and Tourism have signed a cooperation contract for all the joined-tourist activities in the country, which comprises the richness of the Cuban heritage, ranging from its music, cuisine, history, to its artistic and literary heritage. According to the analysis of the tourist development policy in Holguin, cultural tourism has wide developing perspectives as a market destination. It offers the preservation of a wide range of natural resources and socio-cultural values. This research work precisely aims at contributing to improve the exploitation of the historic and cultural resources of the destination.
