| dc.description.abstract | A partir del proceso de reconversión de la producción cañera a la agropecuaria comenzó el fomento de la producción bobina en la UBPC Ulises Fernández, afectada la misma por un déficit de alimentos para el ganado debido a un mal manejo de la masa provocando bajos rendimientos de las producciones agropecuarias. Se tomaron datos retrospectivos de la unidad del período 2007-2010 para lo cual se escogieron las variables peso inicial, peso final, ganancia media diaria y la superficie dedicada a la producción de pastos por tipo de cultivo. Los datos obtenidos se compararon con los establecidos por. Benítez, et al. (2007) En base a los resultados del diagnóstico se realizó el reordenamiento de la
base alimentaria a partir de la metodología descrita por Benítez, et al. (2007) para el calculo del balance alimentario para rumiante como herramientas técnicas de aplicación a nivel de finca utilizando el paquete computacional RaciónICA, sobre Microsoft Excel 2002. Los cálculos realizados conllevaron a concluir que las labores realizadas en la unidad no se corresponden con las exigencias de la ganadería, sustentada sobre indicadores de eficiencia trazados por el MINAG, que de ser así el reordenamiento de la base alimentaria permitirá la producción de 140 tn de carne a partir de 955 cabezas de ganado, lo cual podría lograrse en un periodo de 3 años a partir de abril de 2012.
