Dimensión identitaria del combate de Luz y Caballero contra el eclecticismo espiritualista del siglo XIX

Abstract

En este artículo son expuestas las personalidades cuyas doctrinas constituyeron fuentes teóricas fundamentales, a partir de las cuales, el filósofo francés Víctor Cousin elaboró la corriente filosófica conocida como eclecticismo espiritualista. También son planteadas las causas sociales y políticas que favorecieron el nacimiento del eclecticismo espiritualista en la década del 30 del siglo XIX francés. Del mismo modo, son reveladas las bases sociales y políticas de la asunción de esta corriente por un numeroso grupo de representantes del movimiento liberal, que negaban la orientación patriótica del pensamiento social cubano, defendido por Luz y Caballero. El autor del artículo dedicó una gran atención a descubrir los vínculos de la crítica lucista con el proceso de formación nacional en Cuba. El objetivo fundamental del artículo estuvo dirigido al análisis de la dimensión identitaria de la crítica que el gran pensador cubano desplegó contra el eclecticismo espiritualista.

This article deals with the luminaries whose doctrines constituted fundamental theoretical sources starting from which the French philosopher Victor Cousin elaborated the philosophical trend known as spiritualistic eclecticism. The re’s also an outline of the social and political causes that fav ored the birth of the spiritualistic eclecticism in the decade of the 30 s in the French 19 th century. In the same way, there’s a disclosure of the social and political bases of the assumption of this trend by a numerous group of representatives of the libe ral movement , which denied the patriotic orientation of the Cuban social though t, defended by Luz y Caballero . The author of the article dedicated a great attention to discover the links of Luz’s critical approach with the process of national formation in Cuba. The fundamental objective of the article was directed to the analysis of the identity’s dimension of the criticism that the great Cuban thinker deployed against the spiritualistic eclecticism.
