Proyección identitaria del deísmo naturalista de José de la Luz y Caballero

Abstract

En este artículo el autor ofrece a los lectores un resultado parcial de su investigación histórica sobre la vida y obra del maestro y filósofo cubano de la primera mitad del siglo XIX, José de la Luz y Caballero. El autor trata aspectos significativos del deísmo naturalista del gran educador y resalta su influjo en el proceso de formación nacional en Cuba. El objetivo general que orienta el estudio presentado, está dirigido a revelar las principales características del deísmo naturalista del eminente pensador y cómo desde esa avanzada posición filosófica sobre Dios como causa primera, contribuyó al nacimiento de una cultura autóctona, base de la identidad cubana. Para el desarrollo de la investigación se utilizaron métodos como el análisis-síntesis y la inducción-deducción, con énfasis en la aplicación del método histórico-lógico, entre otros.

In this article the author offers the reader a partial result of his historic research on the life and work of that Cuban master and philosopher of the first half of XIX century, José de la Luz y Caballero. The author presents aspects of great significance related to this remarkable educator’s naturalistic deism and stands out its influence within the national formation process in Cuba. The general objective derived from the investigation done by the author, is intended to reveal the main characteristics of the naturalistic deism of this eminent thinker, and how, from that philosophical position about God as first cause, contributed to the birth of an autochthonous culture, base of the Cuban identity. In this research were used the methods analysis-synthesis and induction- deduction, making emphasis on the historico-logical, among others.
