Cátedra Martiana del Instituto Superior Pedagógico “José de la Luz y Caballero”: Un tributo a la historia y la cultura

Abstract

Las Cátedras Honoríficas constituyen instituciones culturales representativas de las universidades. Son genuinas exponentes de la cultura universitaria por su trayectoria y su reconocido prestigio. Muchos años de estudio y labor ininterrumpidos se concentran en la Cátedra Martiana del Instituto Superior Pedagógico “José de la Luz y Caballero”, fundada en 1982 y que tiene el altísimo honor de haber sido la primera que se constituyó en un centro de educación superior de la provincia de Holguín. Al aporte que ha realizado la Cátedra en la formación valoral, político-ideológica y cultural de estudiantes y trabajadores, a su contribución a la promoción del estudio de la vida y obra del Maestro en el territorio, así como a la dedicación de sus miembros, está dedicado el presente trabajo.

The Catedras Honoríficas (Study Centers) are prestigious cultural institutions inside the university. They represent university culture with their history and renown. The Catedra Martiana(Center for the study of Martí ́s life and work)of the teacher training College of Holguín is one of long, hard and uninterrrupted work and production. It was founded in 1982, the first in higher education in the province. This article is dedicated to the contributions made by the members of this Center to the values, political-ideological and cultural formation of students and professors, to the profound analyses made of Martí ́s life and work in the territory, and to the efforts and results archieved by I ́ts members.
